About Bloomineral

Bloomineral is building a carbon-negative materials platform based on a biomineralization process.

We take CO₂, industrial waste, and seawater and transform it into solid mineral forms that can be used in industrial materials, replacing emissions-intensive inputs with carbon-storing alternatives.

We’re an early-stage team working based primarily at LSCE in Paris-Saclay. Our current focus is simple: make the science work in real systems, and make it scale.

What you’ll do

Develop and run the biological core of our system.

You’ll work on marine algae systems at the heart of Bloomineral’s technology, helping translate biological processes into something stable, controllable, and scalable. You’ll work closely with Julien, our Head of Science, and an interdisciplinary team across geochemistry and process.

This is a hands-on role, focused on experimentation, system optimization, and turning biological behavior into reliable performance.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and operate marine biological systems (algae, coral-inspired systems)
• Optimize culture conditions (pH, alkalinity, nutrients, light, temperature)
• Run seawater and system analyses (pH, alkalinity, DIC, major/trace elements)
• Design experiments, collect data, and use it to guide system improvements
• Work closely with geochemistry and materials teams on biomineralization workflows

Profile

• PhD or ~3+ years of research experience in marine biology, algal biology, coral biology, or related field
• Strong hands-on experience with aquatic biological systems
• Good understanding of marine chemistry and experimental design
