About Bloomineral

Bloomineral is building a carbon-negative materials platform based on a biomineralization process.

We take CO₂, industrial waste, and seawater and transform it into solid mineral forms that can be used in industrial materials, replacing emissions-intensive inputs with carbon-storing alternatives.

We’re an early-stage team working based primarily at LSCE in Paris-Saclay. Our current focus is simple: make the science work in real systems, and make it scale.

What you’ll do

Own how we measure and prove carbon removal at Bloomineral.

You’ll design and run our MRV (Measurement, Reporting, Verification) system for biomineralization. This is core to our ability to certify carbon removal and issue credits. You’ll work directly with Julien (Head of Science) and sit at the center of science, process, and certification.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement MRV methodologies adapted to our process
• Define sampling, monitoring, and data frameworks across lab and field
• Own data quality, uncertainty, and audit readiness, working with external auditors and certification bodies

Profile

• You have a strong background (PhD or equivalent experience) in geochemistry or a closely related field, with a deep understanding of aqueous systems, carbonate chemistry, and reaction dynamics.
• You’re comfortable working with analytical data and instrumentation, and you understand how to move from measurement to interpretation to defensible conclusions.
• Experience with carbon accounting, MRV, or carbon cycle science is a strong plus.
• You’re able to structure your work rigorously, communicate clearly, and operate in environments that are not fully defined. You’re hands-on and pragmatic, and you care about getting things right.

Why this role

You’ll define how carbon removal is actually measured and verified in a real system, one that has to hold up to auditors, partners, and the market. This is a chance to take geochemistry out of theory and turn it into something tangible: permanent CO₂ storage built into materials.
